The Order of Malta’s San Francisco Region Support for Holy Family Day Home
The Order of Malta San Francisco Region has provided consistent support to Holy Family Day Home, a daycare and preschool that serves families in need. This continues a tradition established in 1900 by the Sisters of the Holy Family. Over the years, the Order of Malta San Francisco Region has engaged in various initiatives aimed at uplifting these families. Led by Hospitaller Keven Ryan, assisted by driver James Sangiacomo and other Knights and Dames participating to make this worthy event a complete success.
Key Activities:
- Community Events: The Order has organized family breakfasts and monthly grocery distributions, fostering a sense of community and providing essential resources to families.
- Food Pantry Services: The Order participates in the food pantry, ensuring that families have access to necessary food items regularly.
- Thanksgiving Initiative: Recently, Anne and Kevin Ryan picked up 80 frozen turkeys from a local Safeway. These turkeys were donated to Holy Family Day Home as part of a special initiative to provide needy families with a complete Thanksgiving dinner.
- Distribution Day: The turkeys were transported to daycare, where they were handed out to families. This event was met with joy, as expressed by Jim Sangiacomo: “Imagine the faces of the toddlers, picking up their turkeys, major return on happiness.”

Beautiful endorsement of what the Order of Malta is all about supporting and helping those in need!
