Serving Dinner to the Poor in San Jose
Like the Order of Malta, Martha’s Kitchen, a little soup kitchen in San Jose, believes that food is a basic human right and not a luxury. Martha’s Kitchen serves the neediest in the San Francisco Bay Area by providing approximately 250,000 hot and grocery meals per month. These meals are well balanced including proper proteins and vegetables. In San Jose, Knights and Dames meet on Wednesday evenings to help serve sit down dinners to the homeless and low-income clients. This is a heart-warming experience as the Knights and Dames work directly with the poor.
