Serving the Cities by the Bay
In the San Francisco Bay Area where residents are accustomed to Teslas, the Google bus, and the Cable Car, the Malta Mobile Ministries van is a stand-out. “It’s impossible to miss the striking eight-pointed cross. It’s become a billboard for the Order – people ask us what we’re about, what we do,” said Tim Crudo, KM. In its second year of operation, the San Francisco/Oakland van is already having a major impact in the Bay Area’s poorest communities. The van distributes hygiene kits in San Francisco, Berkeley, and Oakland as well as surplus food products and produce from surrounding grocery stores such as Costco, Safeway, and Sprouts. It’s also a home base for the Walk for Life and World Day of the Sick.
